Hola a todos,

Spanish: 

• We are learning all about fall (otoño) and the seasons in Spanish. 
• Practice these words with your child:
• Yo veo... (I see)
• Yo escucho... (I hear)
• Yo huelo (I smell) 
• Yo siento (I feel) 
• A mi me gusta... (I like)

ELAL: 

• Our sounds of the week are: m, n, and ng
• Our sight words of the week are: for, on, are, as, with, his 
• When reading with your child, have them point out the sight words they see on a page. 

Math: 

• Create patterns with your child at home using different materials (lego, utensils from the kitchen, different toys, etc.) 
• Practice counting 1-50 with your child as well as counting by 2's (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, etc.) with your child at home. 

Science:

• We are learning about primary and secondary colours, specifically warm and cool tones.
• Ask your child what colours they see during each different season (fall we see warm colours, in winter we see cool colours, etc.) 

Social Studies:

• We are learning about 7 Sacred Teachings from Indigenous teachings. We are learning about respect and its symbol, the buffalo. Talk with your child about what respect means to them and your family.

• We are having a playground party on Friday, Oct 21st from 1:30-3:30 pm to explore our current playground and check out some ideas for the new playground we are hoping to build! Join us with your kiddos and ask any questions that you might have!
• Did you know?? Our current playground is over 22 years old!!

• We still need one volunteer to help with Apple delivery. Almost 300 boxes of apples were purchased by our school so the help will be greatly appreciated.
