 ¡Hola a todos!

Spanish

English

  • We are finished writing our own Fairy Tales stories. We used a story map to organize our story before we started writing.
  • We are now moving onto Fables. We are going to explore what a Fable is and what makes Fables different than Fairy Tales!
  • At home, read a fairy tale or a fable with your child and ask them about the story. What makes this story a fable or fairy tale? What words did they use at the beginning of the story? (i.e fairy tales start with once upon a time so this might be a fairy tale!)

Math

  • We are practicing addition and subtraction strategies up to 20 and sometimes even up to 50! We are having lots of Math Talks in Spanish in order to get comfortable explaining our mathematical thinking.
  • At home, you can practice different math strategies with your child such as using a number line, ten-frame and skip counting. Make your own problems at home using real life situations.
  • ex. If Max only has $20 and he needs to buy 4 things, how much money can Max spend on each thing?

Science

  • We are in our "Needs of Animals and Plants" unit. We are researching animals and their habitats, diets, adaptations and any fun facts we like! We are using information binders to find our own information and write it using our own words.

Social Studies

  • In Social Studies we have finished creating our "Past & Present" posters. We are finishing the year with our Seven Sacred Teachings and reviewing what we have learned all year.
  • At home, you can watch these YouTube videos on the teachings and have a conversation with your child about what they represent.
