Martes 13 de Junio

 Hola a todos,

Blue bags: Please bring back the Dalhousie School Blue bags that you were given at the start of the year. If you have lost the bag or cannot find it, please let me know with your child. Thank you!

Yearbooks: I have also sent home the Yearbooks with your child if you ordered one. If you have any questions about the yearbook or want to order one/more, please contact the office with your questions.

Last day of school: Please do not bring any gifts/food for the last day of school. We will celebrate the last day of school as a class!

ELA

  • We have been practicing our silent reading skills daily in order to build stamina. We have been enjoying our silent reading time and have been asking to read even more than 15 minutes!
  • At home, encourage your child to read their books on the couch or the kitchen table after school to relax. We have been having discussions about reading, what makes reading fun, and how to use it to calm ourselves down.

Spanish

  • We are learning all about summer vocabulary, as well as animal vocabulary. We are exploring what activities we do in the summer, what animals we see, what type of weather it is, what clothes we wear, etc.
  • Here are some videos you can watch at home:

Math

  • We are reviewing our addition and subtraction facts every day with games and fun colouring worksheets. We are bringing some work home to show parents what we've learned all year!
  • Our favourite part has been being able to play math games all year long and be able to chose any game now that it is the end of the year.

Science

  • We are now doing our plant research projects. We are learning about the needs of plants and what plants we find in Alberta.
  • We went outside yesterday to sketch a plant we liked in our plant research notebooks. We have been discussing what techniques scientist use for their research such as how to observe and ask questions.

Social Studies

  • We are discussing how the 7 sacred teachings can help us in our daily lives. Ex. How can the eagle help us when we are feeling down? The eagle represents love, like the eagle we have the power to love ourselves and others. When others aren't treating us right, we can choose to love ourselves and the other person and step away during conflict instead of being angry.
